Pomodoro technique

Want to start a habit, or get a job done. Can't seem to get the energy to start because it just seems too overwhelming or hard. I hear yea, same here. I struggle to be productive sometimes. I can't think of any ideas, or what to do or make. So how does someone without any ideas start, and keep going, and reach that flow state? By using the Pomodoro technique.

The Pomodoro technique was developed in the '80s. Simple put is setting a timer for 25 minutes, and sitting down and doing the work. Once the timer stops you can either take a break or keep going. What normally happens is you hit a flow state and continue going. But on occasion you will just want to stop, you don't have the time or energy, and that is OK too. As long as you sit down and try for a least 25 minutes, even if the results are sub-par.

I use this method all the time when it comes to writing. It's the only way I get anything done. Otherwise, I'd just play video games and watch anime. The whole point of this technique is to push you, to form a habit. A consistent routine or method that makes you practice regardless of the result, it's putting in the time. That's what matters, that's what Pomodoro is all about. Small achievable time frames, because after a while each step will take you closer to your goal. With each step, you will eventually travel on a momentous journey, but to do that you have to take small steps one at a time.

So what are you waiting for, set that timer to 25 minutes and press start!
