Stop looking for your passion and purpose in life and do this instead

The more I learn about passion and finding one's purpose to give meaning to our lives, the more I realize it is a fallacy.

Finding your passion, your purpose, and doing what you love, and enjoying what you are doing to pass the time, are the exact same thing. It's just worded differently, and because of that, it's far easier to obtain.

So, how does one find what they love doing with their time? Easy, do a lot of things, try different activities. Play, go out, try this, try that, experience that, go there. Read this, make that. It's through the act of doing that we find what we love doing to pass the time.

It's really that simple. What do you enjoy doing? What do you love doing so much that you forget to eat or go to the bathroom? What's something you're so passionate about that you bore people to death with because that's all you talk about?

If we have something like that, then congratulations, you have found something that you enjoy doing to pass the time. And if you want that thing that can give your life meaning... wait, scratch that, give your life enjoyment.

Meaning and purpose are words that hold too much weight, are too heavy, and give off existential dread. Enjoyment, liking, curiosity, play, or just loving what you do—that is your thing. And it doesn't matter what it is. If it makes you happy, do it. And do it as much and as often as you can. I assure you; your life will feel more fulfilling if you do.
