Everything you do or have in your life, whether it's positive or negative, serves a purpose: Otherwise, it wouldn't remain a part of your life

This concept is challenging for many to accept or agree with, particularly concerning aspects like challenging relationships or persistent struggles that seem difficult to overcome. Surprisingly, these adversities might be benefiting individuals.

How can something seemingly horrible and miserable actually benefit our lives?

It's rooted in the idea that misery often finds company. People who have experienced challenging relationships may continue to talk about their ex-partners, not because they care, but because that misery provides them with something to focus on or complain about, fulfilling a psychological need and thereby benefiting them.

Self-sabotage

Taking action is harder than maintaining the status quo.

For instance, individuals with unhealthy habits might want to change but find it easier to stick with the convenience of their current lifestyle. The effort and time required to adopt healthier habits, such as cooking at home instead of ordering takeaways or working out instead of doom scrolling on the couch, seem overwhelming and to much work compared to the current situation.

The momentary convenience of being unhealthy then becomes a benefit.

Dreaming of ambitions but not starting.

Many of us dream and have aspirations, yet only a few transform these dreams into reality.

Having a dream is comforting; it serves as an escape from reality. However, turning that dream into a reality demands effort and dedication.

Starting a business, for example, is often perceived as more challenging than merely planning to start one. Fear of failure and the comfort of a stable job often hinder individuals from pursuing their ambitions, leaving their dreams unfulfilled and, ironically, benefiting them by providing a sense of security.

Talking about ambitions is more accessible than taking concrete actions. Many discuss their aspirations with friends and family but struggle to turn those ambitions into daily actions, which is what true ambitions demand. Dreams are easily conceived, but the real challenge lies in the consistent, daily pursuit of one's ambitions.

And we can hide behind, not the right time, They don't have the resources or location. Whatever it is, they are only saying this to keep the state quo

Default is easier than being uncomfortable.

Being comfortable and content is appealing, yet it hinders growth.

If we desire change and personal development, we must challenge ourselves, setting not only goals but also deadlines and daily habits that push us beyond our comfort zone. While an easy life may seem attractive, it often results in a monotonous and uneventful existence. Just like a boring story about an average person living an uneventful life, real growth requires discomfort, challenges, and the courage to explore uncharted territories.

Change or stagnation.

Everything in our lives, positive or negative, serves a purpose; otherwise, it wouldn't remain a part of our lives.

Reflecting on this, consider what sticks out to you when you read that sentence. What are you resisting or not accepting as true?

Personally, I've noticed a pattern in myself: I loss momentum, once I start a thing and don't see results. To overcome this, I must persist even when there's no external validation.

If we push ourselves consistently, we'll look back with gratitude for embracing discomfort and leaving behind things we thought were purposeful but were, in reality, holding us back from greatness all along.
