Compassion

Compassion

Compassion is accepting, accepting that someone is not ready, because they are dealing with something, and they are not willing to learn or hear. Wisdom can only be transferred when the student is ready to listen. Compassion is seeing the potential and being willing to wait for them. The dictionary definition for Compassion is a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate that suffering. I feel that compassion is a bit more than that. A willing to wait, to see through someone else eyes. And to accept where someone is in life be it mentally or emotionally.

Well-being and mental health

I see there is a fundamental flow with our current society and it is changing for the better. There are so many of us who focus on productivity and growth and work and building a business or career. But very few of us focus on our wellbeing or the wellbeing of others around us. I have been in so many meetings that aren't volunteer about work structure, processes and responsibilities, goals, output etc. I have yet seen emotions or feelings or mental health be the focus. It's always on the fringes or the outskirts, always volunteer or self-driven. This makes me sad, that we live in a business world about profit but not wellbeing.

Audiences are selfish

Do you really want to devote yourself and all your energy towards something or someone that just takes and takes and takes? That is not a healthy relationship. Be careful about a relationship we think you want.We are led to believe that to be successful this day in age, you need to be comfortable in front of a camera, and that you need to have an opinion on everything. And that you need to build a community. And that you also need to be consistent, constantly making new content. But consistency leaves no space for evolution. There is so much pressure in the modern world of social media to press upload. Is this good for mental health?

Is that for me or you?

Is that for me or you?

Be careful of wearing your symbols and ideology. Ideal worship of the ego and representing it through the cloth to show who you are and what you are is a form of insecurity. It might be a false deity or use, we are not the cloth we wear. So I ask you why are you wearing or showcasing your beliefs or group, why do you feel you need to distinguish yourself from others?I'm not talking about discrimination or stopping someone from wearing something that relates to their beliefs. Like a wedding ring, green stone, a cross, prey beads or a hijab. I'm talking about a full getup that tells people you love a car brand, that you are a new-age hippy, a minimalist or that you are a serious businesswoman that only wears pants. I'm talking about displaying your identity so no one will confuse your beliefs or morals. Cloth that helps people stereotype you from just what you are wearing.

Worry

Worry, anxiety, stress and concerns can become predominant in our lives, and can feel debilitating. With everything is accessible at our fingertips. The world is becoming more and more transparent, and things that never saw the light of day be it good or bad. And with all that knowledge comes fear and a natural sense of worry. How does one deal with worry, because someone telling you to chill out or charm down, is easy to say, but not very productive or achievable in the moment.

The 50 hour work week is dying and here is why

So many of us gen-z and millennials will be the last generation to own their own home (not an apartment) if they are lucky. And with inflation and high stress and anxiety in work environments, we are beginning to value our time more than the money we make. Because realistically money is becoming less and less valuable. Retirement is no longer a sure thing and owning your own home or even being able to pay off your mortgage and keep your lifestyle is very unrealistic for an average two-person income household of $120k. So why work, work, work, retire and dye. When we can live a little more?

Future of media

It has come to my attention that our current social media and life on the internet is changing. We as people are getting more and more unfiltered content directly to us. We are also getting more raw and real reactions and responses. We as people have got to a point where we can openly express ourselves, open the flood gates as someone might say of emotion and vulnerability. So what does this mean, where are we going?

I've developed depression

I have developed depression from my workplace. I don't feel valued by the company and they have made it pretty clear that my future there is stagnant without changing my role or climbing the corporate ladder. I'm a creative, and have never wanted to become a suit at a desk. You know those corporate suits that justify their existence by how many meetings they have to go to. No thanks, that's not for me.

Inconsistency is ruining your life

Inconsistency is the opposite of habit. Inconsistency is where you have too many variance or contradictions in what you are currently doing. An example talked to death is a diet plan. You do it for a little while, week, month, then oh my god, who would have thought that you would get back to your original weight after you stopped? Shock horror?! Being inconsistent with your days, your weeks, months and years is a great way of going nowhere. Rather than the contradiction about altering nothing, it's when you keep changing what you are doing that you end up nowhere.

Mastering the Mind, Overcoming the Challenges of Modern Comfort

We have got to a time in our history that physical comforts, food and leisure are all accessible. We have more than enough to survive. The next obstacle to master and take control of is our minds. Since we have everything we need to survive, we have time to become bored. This is not how humans are supposed to live, we need problems, we need challenges, we need to consume, battle, create and explore. But when everything can be served to you on a silver platter, for a green piece of paper with a number and someone's face on it, we no longer have those challenges we evolved for.

Why you should stop consuming the News

If we take a step back what is the purpose of the News? Down to its very core, what helps news make money? Since newspaper sales are on the decline, selling the news directly to the consumer is a dying form of income. So the way News keeps afloat is through advertisements. Keeping your attention, keeping you engaged with watching, reading, to effectively sell you more ads. That is the core job of the news. Remove your old ideals about informing its citizens and educating the masses on current events, that is what the news used to be. That's a romantic's way of looking at why the news exists, lets get real the news primary job is to sell ads now.

Working all your life

I clicked on the video, sitting there watching listening trying to learn and get inspired when these words hit me like a tone of bricks. It's something I never thought of, I've been working my whole life, saving, investing, trying to get close to retirement when Warren Buffets words sink in. "If you don't find a way to make money while you sleep, you will work until you die."

Meetings

I'm running through the double doors at work, looking at my watch, thinking to myself as I sprit through the hallways "Not again, not this time" as I reach my destination, room 104. I stop, get my breath then swallow, the build-up of salver in my mouth, I reach for the cold silver door handle, turn it an step through. My stomach drops everyone is already there, waiting around a table. One disapproving face looking at me. I'm late for another meeting.
